Globe valves named from their spherical body shape are mainly designed for flow regulation of a media in a pipeline. The valves are primarily used for the control of process quantities such as pressure, temperature and liquid level. These type of valves require auxiliary power to operate i.e. pneumatic or electrical signal that comes from the control system and is connected to the valve through the actuator. The actuator gets the signal from a positioner, the positioner is a device that adjusts the valve actuator’s position based on a control signal.
